Day
1:
Transfer to the railway station to board the overnight sleeper
train to Lao Cai on the Vietnamese-Chinese border. There will
be food and drinks for sale on the train.
Days 2-3: Upon arrival
in Lao Cai drive to Sapa, located on the slopes of the Fan Si
Pan Mountain, the highest peak of Vietnam. This mountain village
is well known for its weekly market which is at its busiest on
weekends. Vietnam is home to millions of people who belong to
minority groups of non-Vietnamese origin and are known for their
colorful dress and interesting culture. Around Sapa there are
many minority villages.
Explore the beautiful surroundings of Sapa by foot visiting several
villages of the Hmong, Dzay and Red Zao minorities. Your guide
will prepare you for these visits to cultural sensitive villages
and will introduce you to these remarkable minority people.
Day 4: A free day
to further explore Sapa on your own and do some last minute shopping
before the drive back to Lao Cai to catch the overnight train
back to Hanoi. Overnight second class sleeper train.
Day 5: After arrival
in Hanoi in the early morning transfer to your hotel.
